It can take a while to understand when God is speaking to you. I’ve been there. I know there have been times that I have been completely unaware of His voice, not even realising that He’s speaking to me at all. I’m sure I’ve said this before, but when I feel like God is speaking to me, I’m writing down all those nods from Heaven. In a journal I write down anything and everything that I think stands out to me in that special way that it does. It’s easier to sort out if you actually write it down. You can look back on it and notice a pattern, track it over a period of time as you pray about it all. It’s plainer to see the whole picture when it’s literally on paper. As for what those nods actually feel like, because they do feel like something, they have a certain kind of intensity to them. It’s so extra at times, I notice it in what some people call “the belly”, or there is the case when I feel it near my heart. It’s just where a woman who had been shocked by something in days gone by would have laid her hand without thinking over her heart as she exclaimed, “Oh My!” Add in the southern genteel accent if you want. I find myself doing this during moments of deep worship, sans hoop skirt of course. This is when you close your eyes and concentrate on the goodness of God in the room because you realise that’s everything you need and want. Then there are the times in my regular go to the grocery store kind of life when I’m noticing that “more” from God. It can be a street sign or a song on the radio or even something in a show captures my special attention, and that is more difficult to put into words, I just notice it. That kind of recognition comes with time and experience, so be encouraged. God will certainly hone your ear for Him, if you are diligent to seek His voice in every place that it can be found. For myself, if God really wants to get my attention, those kinds of moments really start looking like something quick and all the metaphors line up to create a clear picture on a very specific theme, and that my friends is what people in charismatic circles call “A Word”. That’s where the title of today’s post comes in. I saw it in what I call my mind’s eye, like words typed out on a typewriter, and it’s what I feel like God is saying today for all of us. It completely lines up with everything else that I feel like God has highlighted to me over this last week or so. And these two words could mean different things depending how you interpret them so I’m going to clarify the meaning. This is not a call to hold on as if one were waiting for something, it’s the kind of hold on that has a more of a serious note to it. It’s more like when you are in a 4x4 vehicle and there are those handles near the headliner just above the window and what you need to do is to hold onto them because the road you are on is a rough one. I often hesitate to give these kinds of words because there can be a lot of fear that comes in with them. I can only tell you what I feel like God is telling me, so here it is. The road ahead is one that needs to be considered with great discretion and Godly wisdom, for the path in front of us is one that is as slick and dangerous as black ice and we need to direct our lives with care in light of that wisdom. So how do we do that when it’s looking like nothing we’ve ever seen before? Become a person who worships Jesus in Spirit and Truth. That kind of faith filled song shoots down the arrows of the enemy every day of the week. And I feel like God is saying, “Prepare yourselves and hold onto Me.”

“And if anyone of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” – James 1:5

“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in sprit and truth.” – John 4:24

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the word of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.” – Ephesians 6:10-18

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” - Romans 10:9-10

“This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.” – John 6:29

Keep stretching your hands out to God dear hearts. Pour your heart out like a waterfall to Him. The road has surely been rough, but we are mighty in Him. Praise you Jesus. You did it all.
